These Promo Code Terms ("Promo Terms") govern the issuance and redemption of promotional codes ("Promo Codes" or "Codes") for KetoCypher, which is operated by Optikal Development, a sole proprietorship based in Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA (referred to here as "we", "us", "our", or "KetoCypher"). By redeeming a Promo Code, you agree to these Promo Terms. If you do not agree, do not redeem the Code.
Effective: July 4, 2026. This update names the operating entity, defines "Lifetime," clarifies that unredeemed Codes may be gifted but not sold, protects good-faith redeemers from clawback, and cross-references what happens to encrypted backups when a time-limited grant ends.
These Promo Terms supplement the KetoCypher Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. Those documents govern your use of KetoCypher generally, including eligibility, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law. These Promo Terms add the rules specific to Promo Codes, and control over the Terms of Use only where they directly conflict on a Promo Code matter. The general provisions of the Terms of Use, including severability, no-waiver, and entire-agreement, also apply here; if any provision of these Promo Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in full effect.
KetoCypher is a privacy-first keto and carnivore nutrition tracking app. Premium Backup is the paid tier that adds encrypted cloud backup (with more premium features over time). A Promo Code is a free gift that grants a Premium Backup or Lifetime entitlement; it is not a purchase and has no cash value.
To redeem a Promo Code, you must have a registered KetoCypher account. Codes cannot be redeemed without an account.
You may only redeem a Code that was lawfully issued to you or that you lawfully obtained. Redeeming a Code you are not entitled to use is prohibited (see Abuse, below).
Promo Codes are intended for personal, non-commercial use in connection with your KetoCypher account.
A Promo Code grants a free entitlement to KetoCypher Premium Backup. The entitlement is one of the following, as stated at the time the Code is issued:
The specific grant (duration or Lifetime) is whatever is stated when the Code is issued. Different Codes may carry different grants.
What "Lifetime" means. A Lifetime grant lasts for the operating life of the KetoCypher service, not the lifetime of any person. It does not obligate us to operate the service, or any particular feature, forever. If we ever discontinue KetoCypher, a Lifetime entitlement ends when the service does, as do all other tiers.
Promo Codes are free comps and gifts only. They are never sold by us. They cannot be purchased, sold, resold, bartered, traded, or exchanged for money or anything of value.
To redeem, sign in to your KetoCypher account and enter the Code where prompted within the app. Upon successful redemption, the entitlement is applied to your account.
After redemption, your current entitlement — its type, and for a time-limited grant its end date — is shown in the app on your account screen, so you can confirm what you hold at any time.
Codes given out through contests. If we ever distribute Codes through a sweepstakes, giveaway, raffle, or contest, that promotion will carry its own official rules — including any "no purchase necessary," eligibility, and disclosure terms required by law — and those rules govern how those Codes are awarded.
Each Promo Code is single-use. One Code applies to exactly one KetoCypher account.
A Code is consumed (burned) at the moment of successful redemption and cannot be redeemed again, whether by you or by anyone else.
A Code that has already been redeemed will not work, even if it has not yet reached its redemption deadline.
Every Promo Code has a redemption deadline. If a Code is not redeemed by its deadline, it expires and can no longer be redeemed.
Redemption deadlines vary by Code. For example, beta-tester Codes may expire sooner than general distribution Codes. The applicable deadline is the one associated with your specific Code.
Expired Codes have no value and cannot be reinstated, exchanged, or replaced.
A redemption deadline is the date by which a Code must be redeemed. It is separate from the duration of any time-limited Premium Backup entitlement the Code grants. Once redeemed, a time-limited entitlement runs for its stated period regardless of the original redemption deadline.
When a time-limited grant ends. When a fixed-period entitlement runs out, your account returns to the Free tier. Your encrypted cloud backups then enter the same 30-day grace period, with the same email warning before deletion, that applies to a lapsed subscription under the Terms of Use (section 7, Encrypted cloud backups). Because those backups are end-to-end encrypted, deletion is permanent, so re-subscribe or export your data from the app before the grace period ends if you want to keep cloud backups.
Promo Codes and the entitlements they grant have no cash value and are not redeemable for cash.
There are no substitutions, refunds, or cash equivalents for a Promo Code or for any free entitlement it provides. A free promo grant is not a purchase.
Because Promo Codes are provided free of charge, no payment is made for them and none is refundable.
An unredeemed Promo Code may be given away. Whoever lawfully holds one may pass it along as a free gift. What is never permitted is selling, reselling, bartering, or trading a Code for money or anything of value.
Once a Code is redeemed, the entitlement is locked to the account that redeemed it. A redeemed Code or its entitlement cannot be assigned, gifted, sold, or otherwise moved to another account.
We may revoke any unredeemed Promo Code at any time, including in cases of suspected fraud, abuse, or a distribution error on our part.
Once a Code has been redeemed in good faith, we will not claw back the entitlement because of a mistake we made in issuing the Code. We may revoke a redeemed entitlement only where the holder obtained or redeemed the Code through fraud, abuse, or another violation of these Promo Terms.
Revocation of an unredeemed Code does not entitle the holder to any compensation, since Promo Codes are provided free of charge.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Promo Code program, in whole or in part, at any time and for any reason.
We may update these Promo Terms from time to time. Changes take effect when posted. Your redemption of a Code after an update constitutes acceptance of the updated Promo Terms.
Paid KetoCypher subscriptions are sold separately through Google Play Billing and are governed by their own terms (including the Google Play Terms of Service). Those terms apply to purchased subscriptions, not to Promo Codes.
Promo Codes are independent of Google Play purchases. They are not a form of payment for, and cannot be combined as payment toward, any Google Play purchase.
Promo Codes are issued and administered by KetoCypher. They are not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Google. Google is not a party to these Promo Terms and bears no responsibility for KetoCypher Promo Codes.
The following activities are prohibited and may result in revocation of Codes and entitlements, as well as suspension or termination of the associated account:
We reserve the right to take any reasonable action to protect the integrity of the Promo Code program, including limiting or refusing redemptions.
Promo Codes and the entitlements they grant are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
We do not guarantee that any particular premium feature will remain available for the entire duration of a time-limited entitlement, though we will make reasonable efforts to maintain Premium features as described in the app.
Nothing in these Promo Terms limits any rights you may have that cannot be limited under applicable law.
These Promo Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions.
Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Promo Terms that cannot be resolved by good-faith correspondence will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Colorado, and you and KetoCypher consent to that venue, except where applicable law provides otherwise.
